癌症細胞的生長速度往往都高於一般細胞，且通常會抵抗細胞死亡，因此瞭解細胞死亡的機轉與為什麼癌細胞會抵抗細胞死亡便是一個重要的課題，希望可以透過這些瞭解，在癌症治療上提供一個有力的應用。因此本課程將會提供完整的有關細胞死亡之基礎理論與分子機轉，並進一步討論其於臨床癌症治療上的應用，使同學能對於如何促進癌症細胞死亡有更多的認識，並利用這些知識於實驗研究上。
Cancer cells exhibit highly proliferate resulting in resistant to cell death. Several cell death mechnisms are proposed and assicated with cancer cell growth and metastasis. The induction of cell death of cancer cells displays a new window for therapeutic targets. Therefore, the purpose of this class is to provide knowledge for molecular basis of cancer cell death. Moreover, cancer cell death pathways potentially become therapeutic targets will be further discussed in the class.
