癌症細胞的生長速度往往都高於一般細胞,因此癌細胞對於細胞代謝的需求也會增加許多,為了能夠滿足癌細胞所需的能量代謝,癌細胞通常會改變其代謝的方式與分子調控,以確保癌細胞能得到足夠的ATP進而生長與存活。而此種癌細胞與正常細胞能量代謝上的差異,更可以在癌症標靶治療上,提供一個有力的應用,近年來亦有許多研究已證實。因此本課程將會提供完整的有關癌症能量代謝之基礎理論與分子機轉,同時也會探討能量代謝與癌細胞的生長,死亡,侵略,與轉移,並進一步討論其於臨床癌症治療上的應用,使同學能對於癌症能量代謝有更多的認識,並利用這些知識於實驗研究上。
Cancer cells exhibit highly proliferate due to consume additional nutrients and distract those nutrients into macromolecular synthesis pathways in comparison with normal cells. In order to support cancer cells growth and survival, metabolic pathways need to rearrange to insure the sufficient ATP production. The alteration of metabolic pathways in all cancer cells displays a new window for therapeutic targets. Therefore, the purpose of this class is to provide knowledge for molecular basis of cancer cell metabolism and how metabolism to regulate cancer cell survival, death, invasion, and metastasis. Moreover, cancer cell metabolism pathways potentially become therapeutic targets will be further discussed in the class.
