國人癌症死亡率自一九八二年至今皆居首位，而惡性腫瘤亦為世界衛生問題首要解決的項目之一，因此，癌症研究為當今人類首要課題之一。癌症生物學課程目標在於有系統地介紹腫瘤發生之相關進程及其特性，且深入探討與腫瘤發生及惡化相關之分子機轉，並輔以研究論文討論加深學生印象，以達成觀念及學理等之建立，使學生對癌症研究有具體認識，並能應用這些知識於個人研究上。
The major goal of Cancer Biology is to explore the role and regulation of several important molecular pathways and molecules involved in tumor formation. The contents of this course include: pathogenic mechanism of the chemical carcinogens, animal model of tumorigenesis study, chemoprevention of tumor formation, the study of a variety of tumor suppressor genes and the role in tumorigenesis. By deep explore tumorigenesis and deterioration associated molecular mechanisms and discuss research papers to deepen students' impression, in order to achieve the establishment of concepts, so that the students have specific knowledge of the cancer research, and can apply this knowledge to individual research.
