”Publish or Perish”是科學活動的鐵律!而以英文發表在國際期刊並非易事，但也絕非不可能。本課程將深入淺出的介紹科學論文寫作的精義，並以全英語教學循序漸進的提升學生的基礎英文寫作能力；從寫好一個完整無誤的句子到建構一篇論文，並知悉將學術成果公開發表的步驟與過程。本課程的目標會放在讓學生1. 能夠寫出好的 Abstract; 2.熟稔APA 5.0 publication style; 3. 明白論文發表的歷程; 4. 開始建構自己的學術履歷表(Curriculum Vitae).
’Publish or Perish’ is the golden rule in the academic world! Undoubtedly, it is not an easy task for a graduate student to publish their own work in English-oriented international journals, however, it is not impossible to achieve this goal either. In this course, I will introduce the quintessence as to how to write a scientific paper in simple language. I will focus on gradually improving the students’ ability of English writing, from how to write an impeccable sentence to construct their own scientific paper, and know the procedures of how to publish a scientific paper. The aims of this survey course are as follows. I expect the students (1) can produce a well-written abstract; (2) become familiarized with the APA 5.0 publication style; (3) and the process of journal publication; (4) can construct their own Curriculum Vitae. The course will be given in English.
