介紹毒理學之沿革發展及NCTR與NTP之任務，毒性物質對生物體與環境造成之影響，以瞭解毒理學之機轉及原理、毒性物質之種類，並進而減少毒性物質之危害。除系統性介紹毒性物質所引起身體各部位之危害外，並於各章節介紹一般常見毒性物質之作用及機轉，並於獨立章節介紹化妝品相關之毒理及機轉以及光毒性，毒性物質與環境之交互作用，以避免其危害。
Introduce the history of toxicology and the prospect of NCTR and NTP. Students have to understand the categories, source, effect, principle and mechanism of toxicity. Especially, the toxicity of cosmetics, for cosmeceutic students.
